Why The Terminator (1984) Sucks

From the same mind that brought you the films such as Titanic and Avatar. James Cameron also directed a film that sucks just as bad. That film is the 1984 classic, The Terminator. It’s classed as one of the best Terminator to date, but it’s just overrated.

Not only is it overrated, but it has more than 80 movie mistakes/goofs to top it all off.

It starts off introducing a young Sarah Conner who is stalked by a man who looks like he really needs a girlfriend (Kyle Reece). He turns out to be a soldier sent back in time to protect her and her future child (John Conner) from the evil hands of the Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger).

Little did Kyle know he'd get a bit more than what was expected on his quest. Then it was discovered that Kyle was the father of John Conner. What a strange turn of events.

It’s even more strange to know that when Sarah is in the TechNoir Club and finally gets hold of the police, she is told that she will be kept safe by the police Lt. Traxler will be sending to pick her up. Since Lt. Traxler and Sarah have never met, she did not describe herself over the phone, and her picture has not been displayed anywhere, how on earth does the police know who to look for in a crowded nightclub? It's clearly a plothole.

Nevertheless, as it reaches the end it shows the group being chased by the Terminator into a factory where he kills Kyle, loses all his skin and completely fails at his main objective which was to kill Sarah. But if you fail the first time you might as well give up! But this bad plot carries on in upcoming Terminators…

This calls for our point that the Terminators themselves are just suckish. They normally have to pass off as human, and have a rubbish unoriginal design. The majority of them are just robots with red-eyes. Even the villain in Terminator 3 fails to make such an improvement.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is perfect for this film however, because he doesn’t have to say a thing, but just look masculine and cool. When he does say something, it’s hilarious. If someone knocked on my door and said “Is this Sarah Connor?” I’d assume it to be a prank (and call the police after).

Although this future is glimpsed only briefly, it consists of a brutal war between man and machine. And these Terminators are kicking human butt.

Let’s see these Terminators kick our butt for saying this film sucks!
