Why Fantastic Four (2005) Sucks

Most people have heard Fantastic Four from the famous Marvel comics. But when they finally decided to release a motion picture, they should’ve stuck with the comics rather than torturing people with a film…

Firstly, why on earth was the budget for this film around $100 million? The CGI? The spandex costumes? Or just the overpaid actors who showed no quality acting?

Nevertheless, the film introduces four astronauts: Reed Richards, Susan Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm who have a lot of personal issues and a fifth one who really needs to get a life. When they go into space, they get hit with a cosmic ray that gives them superpowers...

The characters were told that this space mission would “benefit all humanity”. So clearly not! They nearly died!

The fifth astronaut becomes their enemy as Doctor Doom and so the others decide to become the Fantastic Four, four super-powered beings ready to take on anything. But when they showed the film it didn't really describe why Doctor Doom was their enemy because he would not be going through all these problems if he simply did not agree with Reed Richards proposition instead of blaming all four of them!

But still after all the action and violence it was a wasted effort because they were unable to kill Doom!

Confusion also lies in other characters, like The Thing. The Thing’s weight is inconsistent throughout the film and it’s pretty obvious. Romance between Reed Richards and Susan Storm is quite icky. And it’s strange that the Fantastic Four got out quite unharmed exposed to the radiation unlike Doctor Doom who was left scarred.

The Fantastic Four just seems like a X-Men gimmick and the villain Doctor Doom, isn’t as good-looking as the comics or videos games. He just looks bland. Also, the Fantastic Four’s powers get boring eventually, especially Susan Storm. Played by Jessica Alba, she’d be the least likely person we’d want to be invisible!

But as we can see, the Four are definitely not that Fantastic. And neither is the film.
