Why Avatar Sucks

The ‘groundbreaking’ film known as Avatar supposedly took 20 years to make. But without the 3D and CGI, Avatar is nothing but a grown-up imitation of the children’s classic Pocahontas.

The main reason Avatar sucks is because it supposedly took over twenty years to make and it was overrated like Hell. I guess this what you get from the directive styles that brought you Titanic (another sucky film).

Avatar is a long story about a handicapped man named Jake Sully who gets a chance to walk again in a body known as an avatar, and travels to another planet named Pandora where he confronts the local tribe. Our main character Jake is a grievance when he gets into an avatar in the first place, causing mayhem and running around like a buffoon.

In reality, he would've been sent back to earth!

When he gets lost by acting like a buffoon he faces many dangers in the large jungle where his soon-to-be-wife Neytiri saves him. If she weren’t there to save him well then he’d be dead! The story would be over!

Nevertheless, when the local tribe accepts him, he is taught the ways of the clan and is also forced to wear uncomfortable underwear. And as it approaches to the end of the film Jake turns against the human race like a traitor to stop them from destroying a sacred tree...

The planet Pandora is supposed to be amazing. But really it isn’t. It’s just got weird looking creatures living there. What else does it have? Trees, plants, mountains… oh wait, we have all this on earth! It took 20 years to come up with a downgraded version of earth. Money well spent? Not at all. And the 3D doesn’t make it more interesting either.

The plot is too long and dreary. It takes more than 2 hours for us to see the Pandora planet get invaded. A five-year-old can describe the whole plot in less than 5 minutes to anyone. It’s also repetitive and predictable at times, like the happy ending.

The characters are also sucky. The villain has little personality and he’s clearly a walking killing machine. It’s surprising to know that no-one sees how evil he is and stops him in the first place. Heck, he even tells everyone he got scars from a fight on the planet. He’s a troublemaker! With that haircut, and that grim face… if we were avatars we’d chew his face right off.

But even so, the avatars (like Jake and his anorexic love Neytiri) are too busy making love under a sacred tree! Even at this time, our leading character Jake knows about the human races evil intentions, so he’s just an ignorant pimp.

The only good thing about this film is that it has underlying connotations that link to America’s invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. The only thing is, people should be thinking less about this sucky film, and thinking more about reality.
